I got a call from this number, and the woman on the line spoke both English and Spanish, saying she was from Western Union. I was just about to send some cash through their website and she started asking for personal details like my birth date and who I was sending the money to. Things got dodgy when she wanted to know my location and address too. I cut her off then and said I wasn’t sharing any further info. She kept insisting it was for my own safety or something like that, but I stood my ground and told her firmly no more details over the phone, thanks.

I found out this phone number is linked to some sort of banking scam. They've managed to get hold of my bank details without me giving them out, and they've been withdrawing big amounts from my account. I got a call saying I only had four hours to ring them back or they'd cancel my security. Thing is, my name isn’t even Miranda, yet that’s the name they used in the voicemail they left me. The message went something like: “Hello Miranda, we’ve spotted some issues linked to your account, and it’s going to be checked by our team immediately. My nana, who’s 82 and barely steps outside her house, keeps getting bombarded with calls on her landline. These callers pretend to be mates and chat her up, asking about her life and childhood stories. It’s awful because they’re trying to fish out personal details to access her bank and credit card info. I received a call from this number with a man claiming to be from Western Union's compliance team. He began by asking me several questions. I'm quite used to these sorts of calls, so I turned the tables and bombarded him with questions, asking why I should even talk to him, haha. I got a call today from someone saying they were from my internet provider, but it was a total lie. They pretended to fix my connection issues, but it was a trick. After that, they tried to withdraw £111 from my bank account that I have set up. I had no idea they could access my computer like that. They attempted to get the money through Western Union. So, after sending money through Western Union, I got a call from this number. They started asking loads of security questions, which annoyed me since the cash I sent for my sister’s funeral yesterday got rejected. I was in a hurry sending money again, this time for my dad. In my stress, I ended up answering everything and even gave them the MTCN, but it was from the failed transaction. Once they hung up, I looked up the number online and found out it was a scam. Fingers crossed my dad can still collect the money, I told him to grab it straight away.

I got a call claiming I owed money that had supposedly been sent to my son, and they even mentioned his name. I’ve used Western Union for ages and know they don’t let you owe them money - they only send what you pay for, so I told the caller to buzz off. The whole thing was odd because the number looked like it was from WU, which makes me think someone might be pretending to be from WU, either a scammer using their details or one of those fake calls made to look legit. Got a call from this number earlier. It showed up as Kroger in Marion, Ohio on my phone. A lady on the line said she was from Western Union and told me my money transfer got rejected. She offered to assist but I told her I had a tracking number and that she was mistaken. After a brief pause, she admitted her mistake, thanked me, then ended the call. So, I'm in Indonesia and sent some cash to my mum last Friday. Then, out of nowhere, this number rings me up on Sunday the 24th of January at around 6:38 pm GMT +7. It was a woman with an Indonesian accent saying she wanted to interview me about something? She even knew my full name which freaked me out a bit. She mentioned something about a bank but I didn’t use any bank for the transfer. Plus, it’s Sunday so no banks are open anyway. I’m really confused about what she was trying to get from me.

I got a letter from that number mentioning November 3, 2015, claiming I sent money to someone, which is totally not true. I never transferred any money on that day. The letter had this code at the top, something like MTC-419. They said I’d get a refund within 7 working days since the person supposed to get the money hasn’t received it yet.
