This number rang me earlier and a bloke asked, "can you hear me alright?". I said "yeah". Then he went on to say, "Dad, I’ve had a bad accident". I asked, "Who exactly is this for?" and then they just cut the call straight away. Seems like one of those scams trying to trick you into giving away personal details.

Had about five of these automated calls today alone, it's ridiculous!

This number called me earlier and left a voicemail, but it wasn’t your usual message - instead, it was a recording of two people talking in our house. We never gave permission for anyone to record us or listen in like that. It feels like a serious breach of privacy to me. Has anyone else had something like this happen??

Got a call from this number, but my call blocker flagged it as maybe not safe so I just ignored it. Even if it was about health insurance, it wouldn't matter 'cause from next year me and my husband are switching to another provider.

Just cuz the number looks real doesn’t mean the call is genuine. Scammers can easily pretend to be calling from a different number. So I just ended the call. There’s this thing called “call spoofing” that makes it possible for callers to hide their actual number and show a fake one on your Caller ID. It’s been around for quite a while and a lot of scammers use it now.

Claims to be from the social security resolution centre - total scammers.

I received a voicemail from 844-477-7500, which I found on the official healthcare.gov site (https://www.healthcare.gov/how-can-i-protect-myself-from-fraud-in-the-health-insurance-marketplace/). The number is legit - it's listed on their contact page (https://www.healthcare.gov/contact-us/). I gave them a ring back, spoke with a representative, and at the end they asked me to do a quick customer satisfaction survey. Definitely not a scam.

I phoned 1-800-318-2596 to see how my HealthCare.gov application was going, and got through fine. Found the number right at the bottom of the official site: https://www.healthcare.gov. So yeah, that number is definitely real.

This number keeps ringing me almost daily, claiming they don’t have my correct address to send some mail. They ask for loads of personal details, even though I already gave all that info to my health insurance provider long ago. I told them to stop phoning me because my health documents arrive just fine as it is. Honestly, I reckon it's one of those spoof scams using fake government numbers trying to trick people in the healthcare system. Definitely shady stuff.

I rang up one of my customers and mentioned their insurance premium hadn’t been settled, so their cover wouldn’t start. Then I checked and found out the premium was already paid, plus their payments were set to go on automatically. Honestly, I have no clue what these folks using this number are up to!!!

Seems like a total rip-off. Definitely avoid sharing any details with this number. Looks like they might be linked to people working at Molina Healthcare or something.

I got this number from someone working at Molina Healthcare in Washington. They asked me for loads of personal details, but it all felt a bit dodgy to me. When I checked the number on my iPhone, it even flagged it as a scam. I shared everything they wanted, but in the end, they just hung up without helping at all.

Be careful, there are scammers pretending to be from the Government Health Marketplace using their phone number. They won’t ring you unexpectedly, usually they send a letter first or you have to get in touch with them. Never say "yes" or "no" to their questions on the phone. The moment you say "yes", it’s like you’re giving them permission to use your info for fraud.

Someone contacted me, claiming they could help with my healthcare application. I’m a recent immigrant and don’t have a social security number right now. It all seemed really genuine though. Could this actually be a scam? 23rd October 2017

This is actually the official number for US healthcare, President Obama even confirmed it. You can also check it out on their official site, it’s not some kind of scam or anything. https://www.healthcare.gov/contact-us/

I’VE BEEN REALLY SUSPICIOUS OF THESE CALLS - I WAS UNDER THE IMPRESSION THAT OFFICIAL GOVERNMENT PLACES DON'T OPERATE ON SATURDAYS OR AFTER 5 PM. I NEVER SHARE OR CONFIRM ANY DETAILS WHEN SOMEONE RINGS ME UP - I HAVE NO IDEA IF THEY’RE GENUINELY WHO THEY CLAIM TO BE. IT’S BOTH RUDE AND FRUSTRATING TO HAVE MY WEEKEND DISTURBED BY THESE ANNOYING CALLS. JUST PLAIN DISAPPOINTED IN TEXAS.

If you get a call from this number, just ignore it. Someone’s obviously nicked the digits and using them as their own. Funny thing is, if you try ringing it back, you’ll always end up speaking to the Market Place. Bit weird, innit?

Got two calls from this number today. The first time some bloke was talking but I couldn’t catch a word, and he left a voicemail. Then, got a second call but this time it was a lady with a really strong accent saying she needed to "verify some info." Thankfully, I had already checked the number after the first call. I’m pretty sure it’s a scam!

It's crazy that no one, not even the authorities, seems able to put a stop to this sort of thing. If these numbers are fake, everyone could be in danger. Surely it's time for someone to step up and do something about it?

I deal with health insurance for the government marketplace at my job, and this is the number I’m supposed to ring. The wait times are insane, like 15 minutes or more on hold. It’s so obvious it's run by the government!

So, this number is actually connected to Lamu in Kenya. If you use VoIP to answer, it can infect your device with things like the Sharpton, Behar, and Rangel viruses, which seriously mess up your gear with malware and adware. Be careful!

This number seemed pretty real at first. They dropped me a voicemail telling me to get in touch with healthcare.gov if I had any questions, and mentioned the sign-up deadline was 15/01/2016. I usually don't pick up on numbers I don’t recognise, but if they leave a message, I do hear it and reply if I need to.

I signed up for health insurance just the other day and now I keep getting calls from this exact number. Makes me wonder, is it truly safe to give out my number for these insurance plans when it seems like it's already been compromised? Feels a bit dodgy honestly.

Some bloke with a funny accent rang me saying I'd been given a $9000 grant from the government and mentioned the FBI were recording the call. This ain't the first time I've had calls like that from him. I've asked him nicely to stop ringing me, but he just keeps on calling anyway.

The scammers have been using a fake Obamacare number for ages now. Seriously, don’t even answer if it shows up on your phone. It’s kinda creepy when you match the digits to letters. So, the number 318-2596 translates like this: 1800 318 2596, and while phones don’t have letters linked to the number 1, check this out - 3 is F, 8 is U, 2 is C, 5 is K, 9 is Y, and 6 is O. So the number basically spells out f*** YOU. If you do answer, they’ll probably sell your info to a bunch more scam callers. Best advice? Just ignore this number and don’t pick up!

I just had a call come through on my mobile, but there was no voicemail left. The only thing I saw was this number, but really, who knows if that’s where the call actually originated. It supposedly linked to something about 'Obamacare.' Since I know numbers can easily be spoofed, I usually don’t share any personal info with callers. You can’t be sure who you’re actually talking to, especially when they show an official-looking number. If it were genuine, I’d expect them to leave a message. So I’m pretty doubtful about this one. If it was just a quick reminder, surely they’d call back with that reminder. For info, I just tell them I’ll ring back - this way, I can confirm the number is legit and call directly. I only deal with my approved agent, not random callers reaching out to me.
