I’ve just been bombarded with seven text messages claiming to be from USAA, stating that I’ve linked several accounts for transferring funds. The funny thing is, I don’t even have an account with them! The dodgy number attached to this scam is 800-292-8995. Quite the nuisance!

I got a message urging me to ring this number as it claimed funds had been approved for transfer from my account. The number displayed at the top of the text was 698722. I chose not to return the call or reply to the message.

Absolute scam artists! Received a message prompting me to ring in regarding my account. Honestly, do they think I’ve just dropped off the turnip truck?

My daughter received a text asking if she'd updated her postal address. It also requested her to ring a specific number if she hadn’t. Apparently, it was meant to be from USAA banking; however, the number seemed unfamiliar to me. Furthermore, if it genuinely was from the bank, I would have thought it would show up in a Google search under the company’s name instead of just a vague department reference. Quite suspicious, if you ask me!
