I got given this number to get a home phone line sorted out coz I needed one. Some idiot took all my details and told me a bloke would pop round at 2pm today to install the service. He never turned up, so I rang back and they said they had no record of anything from yesterday. Feels like AT&T are just scams these days.

Somebody rang me saying they were going to take a certain amount off my at&t bill. I politely told them I hadn’t used at&t in ages. Then the guy asked if I had a middle finger. Of course I said yes, and he went on to tell me to shove it somewhere horrible. I just hung up and rang directv straight away to report the whole thing.

I’m pretty sure these scammers are using spoofed numbers, but it’s odd that they never asked for my credit card info or social security number. What’s weird is how they knew the exact price that matches what’s listed on the AT&T site. My whole family has our services through AT&T Direct TV, so it felt legit. Honestly, folks really need to watch out and protect their personal info. Not all situations are the same, so it’s smart to think really carefully before doing anything.

Not sure why anyone thinks this is a scam, I got a call from this number about a week ago and they hooked me up with AT&T and Direct TV for $105 covering all three services. Yesterday, the installers from both AT&T and Direct TV showed up and set everything up. Now I’m using the services without any issues, these folks really did a solid job. Bless them!

Some bloke rang me up with a thick accent, sounded totally dodgy. He claimed he worked for AT&T, but I could hardly catch what he was saying. When I asked if someone who spoke proper English could take over, he got all moody. I told him I’d ring AT&T’s legal team to verify if he was legit. Then he went off on me, calling me a right b***h. Starting to catch on. We have DirectTV here, and this number rang me at about 6 in the morning, well past usual business hours in the US. The caller sounded Asian and her accent was hard to follow. She wanted to speak to my husband, but as soon as I mentioned he’s in the military, she quickly cut the call. I’m always wary of company numbers calling out of the blue, so I figured this one was dodgy too.

It felt like way too much of a coincidence, so I ended the call and logged out of my account straight away. My phone’s pretty new, less than a year old, and fully updated with all security patches. Definitely a good reminder not to store card details on your phone!

I got a call from a bloke with a heavy accent, kinda sounded a bit like a robot at times, who said he was from DirectTV. He told me I could get a special discounted deal for two years with premium channels included. He asked what I currently pay, and I guess he just threw out a lower figure to catch my interest. He rambled on about other perks, but I wasn’t really following what he said. Since I just started a family plan with AT&T recently, I didn’t think much of it. Then he kept repeating that there’d be no contract and all I'd need to do is pay two months upfront. When I said no way was I doing that, he just hung up on me.

Somebody called claiming to be from AT&T, but honestly their thick Indian accent made it really hard to follow. They said they’d been fixing our home computer and installed some software that apparently crashed last night. Now, they told me they have to uninstall this program to process a refund because it doesn’t work properly anymore. I asked what the program was called so I could delete it myself, but they just stammered and said they needed remote access to my computer to do it. In the end, they wanted both control over my home network and my credit card details to sort out the refund. I’ve blocked the number straight away.

So I got this number from a "chat" I had with DirecTV's online support. I rang it up and the person on the other end said it was the ATT Rewards Centre. They then tried to convince me to sign up for a magazine trial and some car discount services, saying I'd get a £100 gift card for just £1.95 each. When I got in touch with ATT to check if this was legit, they completely denied ever having such an offer. Honestly, what the heck is going on here?!

Had a call yesterday evening where a voice claimed my account was going to get suspended and told me to wait for an account specialist. I just ended the call straight away because I’m pretty sure no one’s fiddled with my details (I get instant alerts for that). Plus, I don’t even have an account with them. I got a call from an automated voice saying my account was suspended and then asked for my ID and the last four digits of my SSN. After that, it said it’d transfer me to another department, but I just waited and nothing happened. So I hung up and called back. This time I actually spoke to someone who immediately told me it was a scam. That’s when it hit me - I’d almost been conned. I asked the guy if I could change my ID on the online account myself, but he said it wouldn’t help and that it’d be better if he did it for me. Then he asked for the last four digits again. I told him he should be able to find my account without that info, but he said he couldn’t see anything without it. He was calm about it, not pushing, just giving me options whether to change the ID myself or let him do it. I chose not to give him the details. Oddly, the number came up on my caller ID as AT&T customer service, even had the same ringtone.

The call showed up as ATT. The person on the line mentioned some kind of special deal for AT&T and asked about the number of TVs we had and what we currently pay for our service. Then they put me through to a manager who asked whether we had U-Verse 200 or 300. After that, they offered a package for $125 a month that included Direct TV. When I said I wasn’t interested in Direct TV, the guy started going on about how the new Direct TV with the new dish was way better. I told him I don’t want any dish, and then he said he'd check if there were any U-Verse deals available. Shortly after, the call just dropped. I looked up the number after and blocked it. Both callers had foreign accents, by the way.

I took a quick survey they sent me, then out of nowhere they texted me a bogus AT&T verification code. They had me repeat the code aloud, and that’s when things went downhill. Somehow they got access to my account without even needing my password. One time, a person calling from this number tried buying five iPhones at Best Buy, pretending to be part of the account. Luckily Best Buy spotted the scam and refused to sell them the phones. This phone number might look authentic, but scammers have clearly learned to fake these legitimate numbers.

Complete rip off. I got a call from a guy who had a really thick Hispanic accent. He said it was a quick survey and that if I completed it, I’d get £20 credited to my account. The survey was all about my mobile service satisfaction, but I don’t even have AT&T for my phone, though apparently their “system” thought I did. He then tried to get my billing postcode and the last 4 of my social security number - I fed him rubbish details. After I told him I knew he wasn’t legit, he just hung up.
