They won't stop ringing me, I've tried to get them to quit but no luck.

I got a call from this number claiming to be RBC. It seemed a bit fishy so I rang the customer service number printed on my bank card instead. They told me that someone had tried to use my account to buy something online.

Yeah, it’s definitely RBC, I’m certain about that. Right after I made a big purchase, I got a call and they mentioned the exact amount I paid. They never asked for my full credit card digits or anything like that.

Who on earth at a big bank thought it was a good idea to use robocalls for card security? What a daft move.

This is definitely RBC. They will never ask you to give your full Visa card number. Instead, you can contact one of their reps who can access your Visa account and check for any suspicious transactions.

Hey, just checked and that number actually appears on the RBC website. You can see it for yourself here: http://www.rbc.com/privacysecurity/ca/alert-automated-call-faq.html#b1. Thought it might help!

This isnt really RBC. Make sure you only ring the number printed on your credit card... Then just go through the menu options to report a lost or stolen card, that way you’ll get through to a genuine security agent. They can check if there’s any suspicious activity on your account. Never, and I mean never, hand out your card details over the phone to anyone who asks you to say your number out loud to them. It’s definitely a phishing attempt.

This number is actually from RBC bank, and yes, it’s a robocall. They rang me up about some unusual activity on my credit card. I didn’t say anything or press any buttons, just ended the call. After that, I used the 800 number on my card and talked to a real person who confirmed this number belongs to RBC. He told me there was a dodgy charge of over $700 on my card that day which I didn’t authorise. Turns out someone had stolen my card details and was making purchases. They sorted it out straight away. Definitely don’t brush it off.

That last comment is a bit harsh, the number actually belongs to RBC Visa and isn't some dodgy scam. I didn’t bother calling the number I got, instead I rang the number on my RBC card itself. They confirmed it was their automated line checking in since I had just activated a new card earlier today and made a big online purchase.
