I'm absolutely fed up with these incessant calls. I really wish they'd just give it a rest!

I received a call from this number claiming to be from RBC. I was quite wary, so I decided to ring the number on the reverse of my bank card for clarification. It appears that there was an attempt to make an online purchase with my account without my knowledge. Quite concerning!

Indeed, it’s definitely the Royal Bank of Canada. They reached out to me immediately after I made a sizeable transaction, mentioning the precise figures I had spent. Interestingly, they never requested my entire credit card number during the call.

Who on earth at a prominent bank thought it was a brilliant idea to authorise robocalls for card safety? It’s absolutely baffling, isn’t it?

This is indeed the Royal Bank of Canada. Just to clarify, you shouldn't provide your entire Visa number. Instead, you can speak directly with a customer service representative who will be able to access your Visa account and investigate any suspicious transactions that might have occurred.

This is definitely not RBC. Only get in touch with the number displayed on your credit card. Use the automated prompts to report your card as lost or stolen; this will connect you with an actual security representative. They'll verify whether there's any suspicious activity on your account. I cannot stress this enough: do NOT, under any circumstances, share your card details over the phone with anyone who prompts you to repeat it back to them.

This is a classic phishing attempt!

I can confirm that this is a genuine number from RBC bank; however, it did come through as an automated call. They reached out to me due to some unusual activity flagged on my credit card. I didn't engage with the call and opted to hang up. Following that, I rang the 800-number printed on the back of my card to speak with an actual representative. To my relief, they verified that this was indeed an RBC number and mentioned there was a dubious transaction exceeding £700 on my account that same day, which I promptly disputed as I had not authorised it! Clearly, my credit card details had been compromised. Thankfully, they took immediate action to reverse the charge. Take this matter seriously and don’t dismiss it!

The individual commenting before me seems a bit misinformed; the number in question is definitely from RBC Visa and not some sort of fraudulent scheme. I didn't reach out to that number directly, but opted to dial the customer service line on the reverse of my RBC card instead. They confirmed it was genuinely their automated system reaching out, especially since I had just activated my new card earlier today and made a significant online transaction right after.
