I exclusively bank with Scotiabank, so it's rather peculiar that the only fraud calls I receive claiming to be from a bank originate from them. Has Scotiabank been compromised in some way, or could it be that an employee has been irresponsible with confidential information?

Beware of a phone scam masquerading as Scotia Bank! Refrain from picking up that call. It’s important to remember that Scotia Bank typically conducts their business face-to-face at your local branch rather than reaching out personally over the phone. Stay vigilant!

I received a call from someone who seemed to know both my first and last names, claiming they needed to have a chat with me. But surely, if they're dialling my number, what’s the point in asking to talk to me? Just seemed off to me. So, I went ahead and flagged the number for fraud! They didn’t bother to explain what the urgency was about or why it was crucial to confirm my identity. My advice? Steer clear of such calls!

I received a call from this number not too long ago. When I answered and greeted with a "Hello?", there was a long pause with no one responding. Eventually, they just cut off the line. It feels rather suspicious, likely a scam.

I've had a couple of calls from this number. Since my phone was linked to Bluetooth, it picked up halfway through the first ring. However, they hung up straight away from their side. Quite odd, really!

I received a call from this number, but they didn’t bother to leave a voicemail. When I tried to return the call, it seemed like I was connected to some Scotiabank system. They requested my card details, which I declined to provide. They claimed it was for promotional purposes, but it felt quite dodgey since they didn’t communicate anything upfront. I’d advise against sharing any of your card info. Stay vigilant!

Looks like a dodgy call. The person had a thick accent from India and claimed to be with Scotia. They began probing for personal details, which raised my suspicions right away.

I received a call from this number, and the person on the other end spoke English with a slight accent, which seemed to hint at an Indian or Hindi background. When I tried to get them to clarify who they were, they completely sidestepped my questions. It was rather alarming how quickly they hung up when I pressed them for more information. I can’t shake off the feeling this might be a scam.

The call might have been genuine; they claimed to be offering me a catch-up loan. However, I'm not interested in that. If they are really handing out free cash, I wouldn’t turn it down, but I definitely won’t part with my personal details. If they truly don’t have my number, then how did they get in touch with me in the first place? If this is indeed Scotia Bank, they should already possess my bank account number, social insurance number, date of birth, and even my mother’s maiden name. So why on Earth would they need to ask me? Am I going to confirm that information? Not a chance! Perhaps I'm being overly cautious-maybe so-but I refuse to feel regret for protecting my privacy.

I've encountered a dodgy call pretending to be from Scotiabank. Even when you ring back the number that popped up on your caller ID, it appears quite authentic... However, Scotiabank usually communicates via traditional mail or through notifications on your online banking account. Be cautious!

Absolute con artists! Do yourself a favour and block this number immediately! Their sole intention is to fish for your personal details. They bombard you with calls, and when you eventually reach out demanding your name be removed from their list, they have the cheek to request your full name, phone number, and even your postcode just to 'process' the cancellation. Whatever you do, don’t divulge any of your information!

I received a rather peculiar phone call that didn’t feel like it was from the Bank of Scotia at all. The caller posed a rather odd question, which she repeated incessantly, clearly just fishing for a "YES" from me. I trust you’re all aware of this; it seems to be yet another scam making the rounds. Under no circumstances should you respond affirmatively to any queries from unidentified numbers. Instead of engaging with her, I simply told her to skip the questions and just state her purpose. After receiving a call from this number for the third time, I decided to finally pick up and see if anyone was actually there. After what felt like an age, about five seconds in, I heard a voice - a clear indication that it’s probably a scam. I confronted the chap on the other end, calling it out for the ruse that it is, but he had some rather crafty defences, that’s for sure. Whatever you do, don’t share or even confirm any information whatsoever; that’s precisely what they’re after. I told him where to go in no uncertain terms! Honestly, the best tactic is to answer and then just let the phone dangle without a word. That way, you’ll be tying up their line while not giving them anything they want.

This number has been relentless, ringing me a minimum of four times each day. It’s nothing short of harassment! I would appreciate it if these calls ceased without delay. Strangely, they’ve managed to get hold of my mobile number too; if I happen to ignore my landline, they promptly switch to my mobile. It's simply intolerable! It honestly drives me to the brink of wanting to sever all my phone lines and even my internet connection, just to avoid these pesky telemarketers and scammers who are always fishing for my banking details.

If this is indeed the Bank of Nova Scotia, just to clarify, I'm not a customer of yours. I would appreciate it if you could refrain from calling me. Thank you.

For quite some time now, I’ve been bombarded with phone calls that are clearly nothing more than a scam. I decided to take a different approach and began picking up the phone without saying a word, then just letting it hang there. I keep it off the hook until the operator eventually hangs up on them. I persisted with this tactic for a couple of days, and thankfully, it seems to have worked as the calls have ceased. It feels good to tie up their lines!

I've been receiving daily calls from this number, yet there's never anyone at the other end. It's incredibly frustrating and quite disruptive to our household routine. I'd really appreciate it if this caller would cease their attempts to reach us.

Rings me multiple times throughout the day, which is rather tiresome, to say the least.

I've been informed that this is supposedly the Bank of Nova Scotia, and to take my number off their call list, they’re asking for my debit card details and my date of birth. Not a chance! They ring me three or four times daily - it’s absolutely ridiculous. This feels like pure harassment, and I reckon they ought to be facing charges under the Criminal Code of Canada.

I’m fed up with those daily calls - I really need them to knock it off!

I often contemplate whether resorting to aggressive threats might put an end to this behaviour. It seems to be effective for some groups when they feel their beliefs are slighted, so it raises the question...

I get phone calls from this number day in and day out, sometimes even a couple of times a day. They never pick up when I try to respond, and I reckon they never will.

Whenever I pick up the phone, I’m met with nothing but that irritating fax machine noise. It’s really perplexing! At times, it happens a couple of times each day. There’s never anyone on the other end, just that incessant beeping and humming of a fax line. Quite the nuisance!

I recently dialled this number and spoke to a staff member, requesting to be taken off their call list, except for urgent matters, like if there’s an issue with my ScotiaBank credit card. They promised me that I wouldn’t be bothered with any promotional calls going forward. Now, I guess we’ll wait and see if they keep their word!

I really wish they'd cease their incessant calls; it's become a daily nuisance, hasn't it?

This number keeps ringing me, but there's never anyone on the other end. It's been a relentless stream of calls, and I'm honestly starting to find it incredibly irritating.

It appears this is Scotia Bank reaching out. They seem to be phoning about various offers-be it an increased credit limit or perhaps a promotion for a different card. It's worth noting that they’ll likely keep ringing you since they have access to your number. If you’re fed up with the calls, simply pick up and make it clear you’re not keen on their offers; that should put an end to their relentless calling.
