3 yearsI keep getting dodgy emails peddling promotions from something called 'BJ's Wholesale' along with sketchy credit card deals. Just today, I received a letter from Capital One notifying me that there's a new individual supposedly linked to this fraudulent account, and they've provided this phone number for further information. When I tried using their chat bot, it requested a credit card number that doesn’t even exist, and then proceeded to ask for my social security number in the next step. It's painfully obvious that this is a scam and a total breach of trust!BJ 'Capital One7 yearsI received a call labelled "UNAVAILABLE," claiming to be from Capital One regarding some questionable charges on my card that they refused to process. They had the last four digits of my card, yet they kept requesting details that the bank already possesses. I decided to have a bit of fun with the caller and told them to try contacting someone else because genuine representatives wouldn't need to hide their number. Eventually, they hung up on me. I found the whole encounter rather disheartening, especially since it’s the season for goodwill, not deceit. I firmly believe in never disclosing any financial or personal matters over the phone. It’s a real shame that the only ones affected are the legitimate charities, as there are far too many scammers around to warrant any trust on the phone.UNAVAILABLECapital One7 yearsI received a call from this number, but it definitely wasn’t from Capital One.Capital One10 yearsReceived a call purporting to be from Capital One, aiming to verify my credit card details. I’m rather wary of sharing such sensitive information over the phone, so I ended the call. It felt a bit dodgy, and I’ve got my suspicions it could be a scam.Capital OneSubmit Your Own Report (0800 227 4825)
