Got a call today claiming it was about a VISA transfer, but the person's accent was really thick and their English was barely understandable. Felt like a total scam from some place in Alberta, Canada. Seriously, why doesn’t the RCMP look into this number?

Got a call from this number too, like everyone else seems to be. The guy on the phone wanted me to verify if I had my card with me. I asked him to spell his name out, and he said James. When I pushed for his surname, he hesitated and then said "Smith." I mentioned that seemed a bit odd given his strong Indian accent. He chuckled nervously. I told him I’d be handling this by contacting Visa's fraud team myself. He started to get annoyed and said it wasn’t needed. We hung up shortly after. Definitely a dodgy call.

Got a ring from a bloke who struggled with English and sounded like he was in a busy call centre with loads of chatter in the background. He claimed to be from Visa security and said there was a dodgy $600 transfer via Western Union on my card. He asked if I had my card handy and then wanted me to verify the card number. When I refused, he just ended the call straight away. Proper scam, no doubt about it.

Early this morning at about 6:34, I got a call from a woman speaking with an Asian accent asking if we had a $600 charge on our credit card. I told her we hadn’t, then just ended the call straight away.

Twice this week I've gotten calls from this number early in the morning, before 6:30, but no one ever picks up when I answer. So frustrating!

Got a call from this number earlier today... when I asked a few questions, the person got all annoyed and promptly ended the call. So, I decided to check the number online and found out it’s based in Alberta. It really baffles me why agencies like Visa, Western Union and even the RCMP aren’t doing more to put a stop to these scams! It’s pretty upsetting that stuff like this keeps going on here at home, especially when the numbers can be tracked down!

So, I got a call from someone claiming to be from RBC, saying there was a suspicious $600 transaction they were worried about. They wanted me to give them my entire card number, which I obviously said no to. Right after, they just cut the call. I rang my bank afterwards and turns out, there was no such charge at all. Definitely a scam trying to steal your details. Watch out!

Got a ring from this number just as it hit 7 in the morning, and the woman actually knew my name, which caught me off guard. She claimed she needed "authorization" for a $600 charge on my Visa. When she asked if I recognised the purchase, I said it was too early for me to deal with it and promised to get back to them. She didn’t stick around long and ended the call fast. Feels like they’re preying on older folks who might be easy targets.

Got a call just before 8 in the morning from the number 780 357-0136. Didn’t know who it was, so I didn’t pick up. What worries me is that last week, I got a call where it sounded like the person on the other end was trying to make me pay for a long distance fee. They were asking about some purchases on my VISA and even had my full name. I told them I’d get in touch with my bank instead.

Early this morning about 7, a man rang us up saying there was a $600 charge on our credit card. He sounded like he might be from somewhere in Asia. When I told him I was going to report it to the police, he just cut the call. I really hope the RCMP are keeping a close eye on these types of scams and take strong action to catch these scammers.

This morning around 8:30 I received a call about a $600 fee on my visa for Western Union. When I asked them to clarify which card, they mentioned TD Bank. Feels like I might have fallen for a scam! 😩

In just 10 minutes I got 3 calls from some Western Union scam, total muppets. It was like 6:20 in the morning and my old dad was sound asleep, told them to ring back later. They even tried ringing the bank which just stressed him out more. Proper mugging off the older folks, wish I could give these scammy gits a good kicking.

Got hit with the same kind of call this morning about some $600 charge via Western Union. When I asked the caller for any details to prove who they were, they just went silent and then cut me off. Didn't even tell ‘em my number. Seems like a classic scam early in the day, just like others have mentioned here.

Got two calls at my place early this morning, about 6:15 and then again near 6:30. Not really happy about it. When they rang the first time, they just cut off before I could say a word. The second call didn't get far either - I told them to stop calling, especially that early!

Got a call this morning from a woman with an accent I couldn’t quite place, asking for some Mrs. Bla bla - couldn’t even say the name properly. Then she started banging on about a charge on my Visa card and wanted me to confirm it. I told her, first of all, it’s 7am, and my bank definitely wouldn’t ring me at this time. Secondly, I don’t even have a Visa card! Told her she was a scammer and to find something better to do, then hung up. It really winds me up. Last week, Microsoft called me too - they really ought to clamp down on these fraudsters.

Someone rang me up about a $600 fee on my credit card from Western Union. I told them I’ve never used that company before. They said they had to cancel my card straight away. I got a bit annoyed and said I’d sort it out only through my bank, then they just cut the call.

Got a call from Western Union early morning, about 6.45, saying something about a £600 transfer on my card I supposedly made. I was like, do you even know who you’re ringing? Their pronunciation of my name was all wrong, sounded nothing like me. I told them that’s not me, then they just cut the call. Weird!

Got a call about a $600 transfer via Western Union on some credit card or something. When I asked which card it was, the woman just ignored me like she didn’t catch it. I ended the call pretty quick. Then, about 20 mins later, they rang again but I didn’t pick up. Definitely felt like one of those scams.
