Thankfully, she introduced herself as representing Mothers Against Drunk Drivers, soliciting my support. I cannot stress enough how crucial it is to refrain from sharing credit card information over the phone; it’s always wiser to thoroughly investigate their website before deciding to contribute. I found her to be quite insistent, and her attitude turned rather haughty as soon as I expressed my reluctance to participate right now.

A woman on the other end claimed she was reaching out regarding drunk driving issues and asked if she could rely on me to make a £150 donation to MADD. If it had genuinely been from the organisation, I would have expected proper caller ID, wouldn’t you? She was quite insistent, and frankly a bit irritable when I informed her that I wasn't keen on sharing any financial details over the phone. I mentioned that if I wished to contribute, I would prefer to do so through their official website. To me, it felt very much like a scam.
