I received an automated call purporting to be from HMRC, warning that they would confiscate all possessions if I didn’t settle an alleged debt immediately. It's definitely a scam; HMRC doesn’t operate like that at all.

This number purports to be from the Canada Revenue Agency, yet it turns out to be a recorded message devoid of any relevant details, alleging they're starting legal actions against "your name." It’s been relentless; I've received several calls from this same number in the past fortnight. Curious, I decided to press '1' to chat with someone, but it either disconnected or, on one rare occasion, I actually got through to a person who asked me to confirm the number they had dialled - clearly, they had no pertinent information. Is this a classic phishing scheme, I wonder?
