I received a rather alarming automated call claiming that my National Insurance number was implicated in some dodgy dealings. Shortly after, I was put through to a bloke who introduced himself as a "Derek" from the police, insisting that it was absolutely crucial I remain on the line. It all felt highly suspicious and fraudulent. A quick online search revealed that the number was definitely not associated with the Victoria constabulary. Quite concerning, really!
