I received a call claiming to be from the CRA, supposedly sharing some important details. But just to clarify, the CRA doesn’t conduct their business over the phone. Quite suspicious if you ask me!

I’ve just had a call from this number, insisting they had urgent information to share. Apparently, they attempted to contact me through email as well. It’s clearly a scam! Best to avoid calling them back!

Received a call this morning from a number we didn’t recognise. Out of curiosity, we listened to the voicemail, then rang back. A chap with a thick accent, sounding quite broken in his English, started going on about our so-called criminal history and unpaid taxes. He ominously warned that the police would supposedly be arriving to arrest us in approximately 45 minutes!

I’d suggest letting the “butler,” or in this case, the answering machine, handle that one. It turned out to be an automated voice. They were after a return call, claiming it was for something “time sensitive.” The call seemed to have come from British Columbia, but since phone numbers can be easily spoofed, it could’ve just as well been from Uttar Pradesh. Quite the mystery, if you ask me!
