11 yearsI received a rather peculiar call from a woman claiming to be associated with the government’s claims department. She insisted she needed to confirm my personal details, including my name, age, and date of birth. She already had my address and full name and mentioned that I was supposedly due to receive a grant of £7,000 that wouldn’t need to be repaid. Naturally, I grew suspicious and asked her for her name and a contact number so I could verify her identity. To my surprise, she told me that I could either continue providing my information or forfeit the grant. When I pressed her for her name and number once more, she abruptly hung up.
