10 yearsI got a call from a guy claiming to be Alex Washington from Cash Net USA, using the number (773) 888-6476. He had a pretty strong accent, sounded Middle Eastern or Indian, which threw me off a bit. He said he could approve my loan as long as I let him verify my account by putting a small sum into it. Then he wanted me to buy an iTunes card from Walgreens and give him the code on the back to "refund" the money he sent. After that, he promised the full loan would be in my account within 30 minutes, but only if I gave him my online banking details. I was a bit suspicious and asked if he could just contact my bank directly to check; he insisted that wasn’t how they operated. In the end, I told him I wasn't desperate for the loan and ended the call.
