I received a message from someone regarding an ad I posted on Kijiji, expressing an interest in sending me money through PayPal. However, they told me I needed to fork out over £450 of my own cash to access this supposed payment, which struck me as utterly nonsensical. I’m not familiar with PayPal at all, so I consulted some family members who use it regularly, and they confirmed it was indeed a scam. It’s outrageous to think anyone should ever have to send their own money in order to receive funds via PayPal! When I made it clear I wouldn’t be sending any of my own money, the caller was visibly irked and rang me up. However, I struggled to make out what he was saying, so I ended the call. He continued bombarding me with messages, insisting on "hello" repeatedly. Eventually, I replied with a firm, "You're a scam artist, please cease all communication." Ever since then, there’s been nary a word from him!
