8 yearsI put up an ad on Kijiji and got a message from someone claiming they wanted to send me money via PayPal. They said I needed to pay over $450 upfront before I could get the cash, which sounded really dodgy. I've never used PayPal myself, so I asked my family who do, and they told me it’s definitely a scam. YOU'RE NEVER SUPPOSED TO PAY YOUR OWN MONEY TO RECEIVE FUNDS ON PAYPAL! When I said I wasn’t giving them any cash, the person got annoyed and gave me a call. Honestly, I couldn’t understand much so I just hung up. They kept sending messages, and I eventually stopped replying. Then they just kept writing “hello” like nothing else.
