I didn’t pick up, the caller ID showed a number from Alpharetta GA, which is nowhere near where I live or know anyone. They didn’t bother leaving a voicemail either. Calling at 2pm on a Sunday seemed a bit dodgy for a genuine business, so I just ignored it. Maybe if they sounded like someone I knew it’d be different... had that happen in the past. Anyway, blocked and moved on.

Got a call from someone pretending to be from Capitol One, saying I owe money. Problem is, I’ve never had any credit cards or accounts with them. They were pushing hard to get my bank details, which I wasn't about to give. Definitely a scam.

Got a call from them super early around 7 in the morning but they never bothered to leave any message.

So these folks are after old debts they've snapped up, often charging way more than what was originally due, sometimes like 3 or 4 times the amount. It's that company, Portfolio Recovery Associates or something like that. What bugs me is how mobile providers are allowed to hand over your number to them. I've checked, and neither of my numbers appears on any of the accounts I ever had debts on.
