Some woman called Jenny Hartop, using the email [email protected], messaged me through one of those spam hookup emails one evening. She pretended to be a mate and wanted to have a chat, so I decided to humour her. The tale she spun was a proper laugh - she claimed to be a diamond dealer who used to live in Brooklyn, New York, and was now stuck in Nairobi, Kenya, for some diamond trading. She said all she needed was £350 to get back on her feet. I joked that I'd send her £500 if she gave me her address and details, but she dodged that. I ran her name through some search tools and got nothing, but then out of the blue, she sent me her phone number. I looked it up and soon realised it was a total con. Oh, and she even sent a photo of a cheque for £160,000, but it was obvious it had been photoshopped. Seriously, don’t trust random people online, especially with these far-fetched stories. Hope no one else falls for that trick! Good luck to everyone!
