I kept receiving persistent calls from this number, so I decided to ring them back. Turns out, they’re attempting to peddle extended warranties for cars. They refer to themselves as Auto Warranty and claim to act on behalf of the "vehicle service department." They do offer an option to press 2 if you wish to avoid further calls, but don’t be misled; they merely wait a bit then call again using a different number. I dug a bit deeper and discovered on the FCC website that this is quite a prevalent scam. If they manage to connect with you, they could likely have access to your vehicle details - don’t be taken in! It seems that vehicle information is actually public record.
