I was told that there was a virus on my computer system, and the person on the phone asked about my internet access device. I informed them that I use an iPad. They then inquired if I had a laptop, as they stated that dealing with this problem would be best done using a Windows device. Upon telling them I only had an iPad, they mentioned that they would consult with their superior and call me back. However, after the conversation, I realized that the number had been blocked. It seems quite apparent that their scam could only succeed if they had access to a Windows computer.

My phone has received calls from two different numbers in the past fortnight- one was linked to 02083183047. I am inclined to believe it's the same individual attempting the Microsoft scam once again.

I recently received a phone call from someone who claimed to be from talk talk. They informed me that my internet had been hacked and that's why my connection was slow. Surprisingly, my internet has actually been quite sluggish lately, and I have been trying to get in touch with talk talk to fix this issue for weeks. The individual on the phone asked me to go through my internet settings, but when I requested to receive the information in writing, she abruptly ended the call.

I received a call from someone claiming to be Sandra from BT, but their thick Asian accent made it quite obvious that they were not who they claimed to be. They informed me that my router was showing a series of error messages and warned me that the call was being recorded for fraud investigation purposes. However, instead of deviating from their rehearsed script, they immediately proceeded to ask me for a list of devices connected to the internet on my end. Given that this is a business number and not linked to BT in any way, I promptly transferred the call to our security team. Sensing something was amiss, the supposed BT caller hung up. This incident is a clear reminder to be cautious and vigilant, as scams like these can pose a serious threat to the unsuspecting.

I recently received a phone call from this particular number. The caller knew my name and claimed to be from British Gas, informing me that my contract would soon need renewing. I questioned why British Gas was reaching out to me, as I had stopped using their services nearly a year ago. Curiously, the caller inquired about the energy provider I was currently with. I responded rather abruptly, telling him to respect my privacy and focus on his own affairs. Eventually, he abruptly ended the call. I was contacted by a person with an Indian accent claiming to be from Microsoft. He informed me that something harmful had been downloaded onto my computer. Although I found it odd, my lack of computer expertise led me to allow him access to my device. As soon as it became clear that they were looking for money, I expressed my disinterest and instructed him to stop meddling with my computer. However, he refused to comply, stating that he had unfinished tasks. Frustrated, I shut down my computer and ended the call. Now, I am unable to regain access to my device. I feel irritated and rather foolish for falling into this trap.

They requested that I switch on my computer to allow them to demonstrate. I questioned which computer they were referring to, to which they mentioned the one in my household. Surprisingly, they called a business number instead. However, they abruptly hung up the phone when I jokingly informed them that I was Bill Gates' cousin.
