Got a call from someone claiming to be with Simple Network trying to sell me computer protection. Something about it didn’t feel right, probably a scam.

Someone called me claiming my computer had a virus and wanted to know what I used to go online. When I said it was an iPad, they asked if I'd got a laptop since they said Windows was better for fixing the issue. I told them I just had the iPad, then they said they'd check with their manager and ring me back. I've blocked the number now, but it's clear this con only works if you're using Windows.

For the past couple of weeks I've been getting calls from this number and also from 02083183047. I'm pretty sure it's just one person behind both of them. Looks like another one of those Microsoft scam calls.

Got a call from someone saying they were from TalkTalk saying my internet might of been hacked and that’s why it’s been so slow. Honestly, it has been running really badly and I’ve been chasing TalkTalk about it for ages now. The caller asked me to check my internet settings but when I said I wanted it in writing first, they just dropped the call.

Got a call from someone claiming to be Sandra at BT, speaking with an Asian accent. She told me my router had loads of errors and that the call was being recorded and would be sent to the fraud dept. Despite this, she stuck rigidly to her script and asked me to name all the devices connected online. Since it’s a business line and we’re not even BT customers, I passed the call on to security. Right after that, the fake BT agent just hung up. This looks like a proper scam, so watch out if you get a similar call!

Got a message supposedly from the Inland Revenue. It was all recorded and said it was urgent and to call back or they’d take legal steps. Total scam, rubbish stuff! Don’t reply and just block the number straight away!

This number just rang me earlier. The guy on the line said he was from British Gas and asked if I was ready to renew my contract, calling me by my name. I told him I hadn’t been a BG customer for nearly a year, so I was confused why they were contacting me. When he asked who my supplier was now, I pretty much told him to butt out of my business. Then he just ended the call. Watch out for this one!

Got a call from this number again today, and the bloke on the other end was really rude and aggressive. He claimed he was calling about my Windows computer, but when I told him I don’t own one, he went as far as calling me a liar! I told him his attitude was unacceptable and then ended the call.

This number rang me up, and a guy with an Indian accent claimed he was from Microsoft. He told me my computer had a dangerous file downloaded on it. Even though I found it odd, I’m not that good with tech, so I let him take control of my PC. After a while, when he demanded payment, I said no thanks and told him to stop. But he refused, saying he needed to finish his work. I had to just shut down the computer and ended the call. Now, I can’t even access my PC. Really frustrated and feeling a bit daft about the whole thing.

Got a call from this number and there was a woman on the line with an Indian accent saying she was from some "Windows operating system" or maybe "IT Solutions" about my laptop. I was like, no way, Windows don’t just ring random people, so I told her that and ended the call.

They just keep ringing me and then hanging up straight away. It's so annoying! I wish they'd just stop with this pointless calling.

Beware of this Windows scam! They ring you up claiming there's something wrong with your computer. Then they ask you to switch it on so they can supposedly fix it - but only if you hand over your debit card info. Don’t trust them or share any of your personal details.
