I received a rather dubious call labelled 'dir assist' on my device-the chap had quite a pronounced Middle Eastern accent. He insisted that I power up my computer because, apparently, Xfinity had detected alerts and warnings on my machine, and he was eager to download something to remedy the issue. When I requested to speak to someone who could converse in proper English, he merely reiterated that I should switch on the computer so he could guide me. I'm relieved I didn't comply just because someone on the other end of the line requested it. This whole scenario certainly raises a few red flags!
