They were flogging some so-called medical alert pendant alongside a rather enticing offer of £3000 worth of grocery vouchers. They claimed to be referred by my GP, which I know to be utter nonsense. They instructed me to press 1 to confirm my address or 5 if I wished to inform my doctor I was turning down their so-called medical device. Out of curiosity, I pressed 1 and found myself connected to a place called Senior Care USA. They assured me that they would take my number off their list. As I don’t have caller ID, I used *69 to chase up the last incoming call, which turned out to be 724-215-5810. However, when I tried to ring them back, all I got was an incessant busy signal.
