I've been receiving daily calls from a chap with an unusual accent inquiring about a previous staff member. It can only be described as a blatant scam.

I was quite taken aback when they responded to my inquiry about how they obtained my number by claiming it was sourced from a PDF document. Curiously, they seemed rather evasive when I pressed them for details about the origin of that file. Upon my request for the specific filename, I was surprised to find it bore my actual name.
When I probed once more regarding its source, the individual took a roundabout route, first stating it was compiled by their "in-house data collection team," and then pivoting to "Google" as the answer.
Their accent had a distinctly Indian lilt, which made it rather challenging to decipher their words...
It's truly remarkable how they continued the conversation despite my persistent questioning.
