Just got a text from some bank I've never heard of, saying there's a problem with my account. The message had a number, 17172452648, but I’m not even risking calling it. Sounds like one of those scams to me. Wouldn’t trust it at all.

Today I got a couple of texts on my phone from [email protected] and [email protected], both saying something like: [Alert] 17172452648 about my account with Beneficial Bank. Since I don’t actually have any account there, I called the number just to check what was going on. An automated voice told me to enter my 16 digit account number...yeah right, what a sneaky way to grab my info if I had one! Just a heads up to everyone - this looks like a scam or some kind of identity theft attempt. Stay safe!

Yeah, definitely a scam. I received a couple of texts from that number too. The voicemail parts kept glitching and dropping out. After I kept entering bogus card details, the call just ended on its own. I guess the person on the other end must be fed up with me ringing repeatedly, haha.
