4 yearsTwice I received calls from someone claiming to be with a firm called Fortix using this number. The location for the number popped up as Lockport NY, USA. The caller was explaining some supposed hostile takeover of Vodafone and insisted I complete a share trading form to secure shares we supposedly owned. I asked if they were FCA-registered and for their company registration number to verify. They dodged my questions smoothly multiple times before abruptly ending the call. This feels like a well-planned scam; they clearly gathered loads of details about our family to make their story believable. Weeks ago, my elderly dad mentioned someone had called about some old shares. He told them to ring me for further talks. They seemed keen for him to sign some form allowing them to trade on his behalf.
