I keep getting those kinds of texts too. Honestly, the police don't ring ahead with a phone call before showing up at your house, that’s just ridiculous. The tax office won't be calling from some Buffalo NY number either, in fact, they usually don’t phone you at all. They send official letters through post and behave properly. It’s clearly a con. I’m pretty sure they ask you to pop into a shop like Tesco or something and transfer cash via MoneyGram. I just ignore and block them straight away.

Some lady said she was Agent Katherine Brown from the IRS and started telling me I was in trouble for tax fraud and invasion. I told her I found it hard to believe since I have a legit tax advisor and always get a refund every year. Then she got really mad and growled something about the sheriff coming round in a couple of hours to arrest me, saying I’d find out who’s really scamming who.
