This bloke named Jamal Charles has been repeatedly bothering my missus and mother-in-law, hassling them over some supposed debt that isn’t even real.

I've been getting calls from these lot claiming they're submitting something with my local court, even spelling out the name of the area. Then they threaten to send someone to my workplace to serve me with some sort of subpoena. They're debt collectors, but the worst kind you could imagine. They don't seem to care about any rules and try to scare you with threats. Honestly, these types are the worst in their field, snapping up unpaid debts for a fraction of what was actually owed.

I got a voicemail from this number saying there was some kind of complaint linked to my social security number and that they had documents or whatever, but the caller hung up before explaining any details. After that, I heard a bunch of button pressing and chatter in the background while it was still recording on my answering machine. When I tried to look up the number, nothing came up. So yeah, I’m definitely not calling them back!

Seriously, how do they think it's alright to keep bothering me during work hours? I never asked for any loan, nor did I ever agree to anything, whether in writing or just verbally. What steps can I take to get them to leave me alone?

Got a call from someone saying they were with my local county clerk's office, total load of rubbish. I rang up the clerk myself, and they hadn’t got any record of it either. Proper scammers, be careful!

If someone owes money, they should send a letter about it first. Getting calls that are pushy or annoying doesn't seem right and I heard that kind of behaviour actually breaks the fair debt collection rules.
