So, I got a voicemail from someone calling themselves "Lieutenant Dan Morris" saying I had a warrant out for missing jury duty. Before I phoned back, I checked the number and found a comment from a few days ago warning about this. When I called, the guy repeated the warrant story. I told him to hold on while I was putting the real OC Sheriff's office on the line to verify. Suddenly, he just dropped the call. I tried again, and a different "Lieutenant" picked up. I said I got cut off with the first guy and asked to speak to him, but this one hung up on me as well. After that, I rang the actual OC Sheriff’s department and reported the scam number.

Got a call from someone saying they were a sheriff and that I had an arrest warrant because I missed jury duty. They wanted me to pay over a grand through some kind of e-voucher. I rang the real sheriff’s office and they told me to just end the call and report the number straight away.
