11 yearsThis number called me the other day and it was pretty unsettling. A guy with an Indian accent was insisting on speaking to me by name. I refused to say who I was and kept asking him who he was instead. He dodged my questions but claimed that someone close to me - family or friends - had been involved in a deadly accident. At first, I was shocked and couldn’t believe it was real. Turns out, it was just a scam trying to trick me. It’s crazy how far these scammers will go just to get personal details. They still ring me now and then, but I just ignore the calls.11 yearsFor the last three days, I’ve been getting calls from this scammer almost all day, from early morning till late afternoon. One time, he gave the name Edward, but had quite a thick Indian accent. Like other callers claiming to be from TalkTalk, he tried telling me my router was faulty. I told him straight up that it was a scam and if they were genuine, they could send me an email or a letter explaining any issues. Then he just hung up on me. You could hear loads of background noise like a whole swarm of people working on this irritating scam. Just a heads-up to everyone - these scammers don’t have a shred of decency.Edward11 yearsGot called by this guy before, and today he rang me again. He said his name was Mr Smith, though it was hard to catch because of his strong Indian accent, and claimed he was from Talk Talk. He was going on about my router sending loads of errors to some master server or something. He asked me to switch on my computer and check it out. I told him I don’t own a computer, and then he went on saying I must be skint and live in a cheap house, and just hung up on me. When it happened the first time, I kept him on the phone for about 20 minutes. He told me to hit the windows key and the letter 'R’, which opens some 'Run' box. I guess they try to get you to type in something dodgy after that.Smith11 yearsThis number rang me five times all in one day. I answered the first call but stayed quiet, and then the call just cut off abruptly. I didn’t bother picking up the rest.11 yearsPhone rings on my landline but as soon as I pick up, it just cuts off. Keeps happening non stop.11 yearsGot a call from this number today claiming to be from TalkTalk, telling me to turn on my computer so they could fix a supposed virus. Total scam, obviously.TalkTalk11 yearsI've had about half a dozen calls from this number over the last few days. Every time I answer, there's just silence on the other end before the line gets cut off, like the caller ended the call. Now, I've taken to just lifting the receiver and hanging up straight away without saying anything. One time, the person on the line claimed to be from TalkTalk, with a bloke who sounded Indian trying to tell me there was an issue with my router that needed fixing. I told him off and then ended the call.Talktalk11 yearsI keep getting calls from this number claiming to be TalkTalk. I checked with TalkTalk directly and they confirmed it’s not them. Looks like a total scam to me.TalkTalk11 yearsI keep getting calls from this number, but whenever I answer, there’s just silence on the other end.11 yearsOur landline, which we hardly ever use since it’s mostly for the older folks like grandparents and parents, rang the other day. I picked up and the line just went silent right away. When I tried calling the number back, it said the number was out of service for now. We've been getting a bunch of strange calls like this lately.Submit Your Own Report (070 8481 7376)
