Had exactly the same thing happen - got bombarded with 27 texts, all in a row, then a follow-up one from Freebee. On the bright side, I finally managed to speak to someone at Virgin Mobile by dialing 789 and waiting ages. They confirmed it was their own technical glitch causing the issue and assured me they're refunding the customers affected, so if you’re worried about being charged, that’s a relief to hear.

Back in September 2020, I got charged for 19 premium texts, but I never actually got any messages. Then, after a while, I got a message from Freebee promising to pay me back. Still haven’t seen a penny from them. Virgin, my network, claims I must’ve signed up for something, but honestly, I didn’t. I’m still trying to sort this mess out with them.

Got seven premium messages from this number all at once on 25/9/20, they arrived within just a minute. The following day, I got a text from 'Freebee' saying there was some technical problem causing me to get premium messages I never asked for, and that they’d contact me soon to sort out a refund. Haven’t heard anything since then.

Had exactly the same problem, ended up with 50 texts charging me a quid each before I managed to block them. Tried reaching out to Virgin through their dreadful text support, and they said the number belongs to Cancer Research UK. Never signed up for anything like that, as far as I know. If they're blaming that charity for this, it could really hurt their name. I've sent them an email to let them know what's going on. Also, I've put a limit on my texts now and would recommend everyone else do the same to avoid this mess.

I was in Ireland recently and I don’t remember getting any calls or texts from this number, but then 4 days later I get my phone bill and there’s like ten separate £1 charges all from the same number at exactly the same time. Luckily I’ve got a £10 spending limit on my plan otherwise it might’ve been a lot worse. I’m planning to call Virgin about it first thing tomorrow.

Just like a lot of other folks, I got spammed loads of texts before I hit my limit - about 50 messages or so. It happened here in Birmingham, which I’ve heard is one of those places where this kinda thing happens a lot. I don’t think I’ve signed up for any contests or anything, the only times I’ve handed out my number is when I’ve ordered stuff online or had deliveries.

I’ve been trying to contact Virgin Media all weekend about these premium texts from Freebee and haven’t gotten anywhere. It’s so frustrating! I’m a Virgin Media customer myself and if they don’t sort this out and give me a refund, I’m seriously thinking of switching providers.

Got bombarded with 18 texts in just a couple of minutes from this number, all of them unwanted and premium messages charging a quid each. The texts claimed to be from Freebee, but when I checked, the actual FreeBee telecom said it wasn’t from them. I blocked the number straight away but ended up losing £18 before I could stop it!

I’m with Virgin Media as well and can’t figure this out either. Luckily, I’d set a spending limit, so I only got charged for 9 messages at £1 each. Saw someone else with Virgin complaining about the same thing. Their customer service is pretty useless, just keep telling me I must have signed up for those premium texts, which I definitely didn’t.

I’ve been trying to figure this out too, I’m with Virgin Media as well. Thankfully, I had a spending limit set, so it only ended up being about 9 texts at a quid each. I noticed someone else with Virgin said the same, but the support was useless and just kept claiming I must’ve signed up for some premium text service or something.

On the 25th of September, I got hit with 136 texts from this number, each one costing me a quid. They just kept pouring in non-stop. I’m trying to sort it out now by talking with Virgin Mobile.

Got about 9 spam texts from this number today, just deleted them all as soon as I got em. Weird thing is, my account still got charged £9. Lucky I set a £10 limit on my phone plan or it could'a been worse.
