Use your app and verify directly with PayPal. Dont trust random sites or forums, anyone can write stuff there. Always check straight from the official source.

It really was PayPal. I was chatting with their customer support online, and then the representative tried ringing me. When I asked about it in the chat, they explained they thought a phone call would be clearer than messaging back and forth. I was a bit wary and told them to call again so I could be sure. When they rang back, it was definitely an official PayPal agent who remembered all the details from our chat. If you get an unexpected call that you didn’t ask for, I’d probably just ignore it.
