Got this weird message that didn't even make sense, supposedly from Apple. It kept telling me to ring these two different numbers and said it was from California or something. They kept ringing me over and over, so I’m just blocking them now.

Today, on the 20th of October around 4:10 pm, I received a call from this number. The person on the other end claimed to be from a support team.

I got a call saying my Apple device was infected with a virus. I fibbed and told the guy I actually use a DELL. Then he asked for some kind of internet connection info. I told him to stop calling me and he told me to f-off! He sounded foreign, maybe from India or somewhere close. The government’s do-not-call list is useless. Cheers to our brilliant politicians for that. They deserve a pay rise, for sure. I’m seriously thinking about ditching all my phones and going back to a beeper. Honestly, I was fine with just having a beeper.

I keep getting calls from strangers on my mobile, and it’s really starting to annoy me. Sometimes they leave weird messages that don’t make any sense, other times they ring and don’t even bother to leave a voicemail but just keep ringing over and over. The worst part is, I have no idea where they got my number from since it’s not my landline or anything. Honestly, I just wish these unknown callers would stop bothering me on my cell.

I got loads of calls from this number saying they were Computerfix. I just hung up, but they kept ringing me again and again.

So, some scammers managed to get into my computer and stole my credit card info. After that, they even had the cheek to try and sell me some kind of internet protection. Absolutely horrible experience!

Today I got two calls from this same number, some bloke saying he was from Apple’s tech support. He said he was ringing from Lahore, Pak*stan. When I told him I wasn’t falling for it and it sounded like a scam, he just started threatening me with all sorts of rude stuff about “blowing me up” and things like that. Lovely chap.

This number texted me saying not to use my phone, which was pretty odd. I've gone ahead and blocked it now.

So this number rang me twice saying they were from Apple, warning about some weird stuff happening with my iCloud. I kinda believed it at first since I’d just been on iCloud trying to sort more storage. The woman on the phone, with a foreign accent, told me to ring back when I’m at my PC. I was at work then. After I checked online, I ended up blocking the number - didn't want to take any risks.

I’ve been getting the exact same calls like what others mentioned. Over a couple days, I got about eight missed calls from different numbers, one with a 323 code and others starting with 201 and 910. They left a message saying something like “this is APPLE security tech support, ring us back right away from a different phone, your phone might’ve been hacked.” Honestly, it’s rubbish. No way Apple staff would be phoning from a 1-800 number like that. They just want you to call them, but it’s definitely not legit.

There’s something off about this call straight away. They never say who they are in their voicemail, and then they tell you to ring an 0800 number. I’d steer clear of calling back - who knows what they might try to do if you do, maybe even hack into your phone.

This number called me twice back in September 2016, and then again today from a 916 area code. Each time, the automated message claimed to be from Apple. The voice instructed me to ring 800 781 1209. When I dialled that number, a guy answered, sounded like he was from India, and kept repeating the same thing three times. I still couldn't make out what he was saying, and then he just hung up on me.

I normally ignore calls from unknown numbers, but this one left me two voicemails on my phone, which I’ve only had for a couple of months, saying not to use my phone and to ring 1-800-781-0776. Really relieved I came across this website and found out it’s all a scam. I’m gonna block the number straight away. Cheers for the info!

Beware of this scam claiming to be from Apple. If you hand over your computer details, they'll try to swipe your personal info as soon as they get in. I reached out to Apple support and they said they know about this scam. Not sure if Apple’s legal team is taking any action though. These fraudsters are like the thieves of today, and there really ought to be stricter laws against them. Cheers, Bruce

Got a call from an 800 number but didn’t pick up. Later they left a message saying not to use my phone until I got in touch with them. Sounds like a total scam to me. I’ve blocked the number now.
