Phone kept ringing for ages then when I finally picked up it just went silent.

So this bloke called saying he was from XLN Telecom, which is who we use for our phone service, but he gave me a completely different phone number! I asked him what our actual number was, thinking if he was legit, he'd know it off the top of his head. Turns out, he didn’t! Proper muppet. Honestly, everyone should make sure to have passwords set up with their providers so you can actually trust who’s ringing you. Saves a lot of hassle.
