Reports on phone number 2899821193
12 yearsGot a call from this number earlier today. A bloke claimed my computer was sending virus alerts and spam reports to their system and asked for my computer ID. When I asked for more info about the reports, he just kept repeating the same lines without any real explanation. Then when I pushed for details, he passed me onto his so-called 'supervisor,' who basically said the same thing. They mentioned running a Microsoft server, and when I asked where they were located, they said California. But strangely, when I asked what time it was there, they couldn’t give me a proper answer. After that, they threatened that Microsoft might need to shut down my PC. Since I know quite a bit about computers, I knew that was nonsense, though I guess it might scare some people. I politely ‘thanked’ them and hung up.MicrosoftCalifornia12 yearsNormally, they hide their number, but this time it showed up, so I looked it up and jotted it down. It was the same kind of call others mentioned here. I just told them straight away that I wasn’t interested.12 yearsGot a call earlier from this number. A bloke with a strange accent said he was from Microsoft and claimed my brand new laptop, bought just a couple of weeks ago, was in danger. He gave me some sort of ID number, said only me and Microsoft would know it, so I wrote down this ridiculously long string of digits. Didn’t feel right though, especially when he messed up and called me by the wrong name, so I ended the call. Then he rang again but I just let it ring out.Microsoft12 yearsJust got a call like this on 11/10/2014. When they asked about the computer, I replied with "which one?" and left them waiting on the line. Told them my computer wouldn’t even turn on, then said thanks for calling and said goodbye before hanging up. They rang back, asked why I’d cut off, then ended the call themselves straight away. Felt a bit childish to me. Makes me curious who they are and what they want exactly?12 yearsHad this bloke with a thick accent ring me up today and yesterday too, saying he was from Microsoft's 'technical team'. I just froze him out and left him waiting on the phone both times.Microsoft12 yearsUsually I just ignore calls like these but sometimes if I pick up I ask the caller for their password before I chat with them. Most of the time they have no clue what I’m on about and just hang up if I keep asking. They don’t seem to bother much after that.12 yearsThis number keeps ringing my parents and the person on the line says they're from Microsoft. They tell them there's something wrong with their computer because it’s apparently getting loads of junk emails and then ask for their login info. Even though my parents told them to stop calling, they've kept ringing them off and on for the past few days.Microsoft12 yearsI get calls loads a day, but whenever I pick up, there’s nobody speaking.Submit Your Own Report (028 9982 1193)
