Can someone tell me who’s trying to reach me?

I got a call where right after I answered, there was just the sound of another phone ringing in the background. When they left a voicemail, it was that same ringing noise again. Seems like some automated system chose me at random, then a bloke came on the line but mumbled his company name so I couldn’t quite catch it. He said something like, "This is (his name) from (partners and something else)", but the rest was a bit of a blur.

Whenever my answerphone picks up, they just hang up straight away. It’s super frustrating and really messing with my day. Does anyone know a way to block these calls for good?
