I've got a few concerns that have led me to steer clear of returning his call: Firstly, the voicemail kicks off as though this Eric was mid-sentence before the recording even began, which gives it a rather staged quality rather than the feel of a genuine conversation. Secondly, he throws around alarming phrases designed to strike fear-talk of serious legal actions and having my social insurance number tarnished perpetually is quite unsettling. What's more, he only seems to mention his name towards the end of the message, and unless it was mentioned in the portion that didn't record, it's quite a poor introduction. Lastly, the chap never addresses me directly; instead, it’s all vague phrases like “against your name” and “I repeat, this message is for you,” which feels very impersonal.
