8 yearsSome bloke rang me claiming to be from Yahoo, saying my email got hacked. I told him I’d just change my password, but he insisted that doing that would actually let them get into loads of my personal info. I said I’d ring him later when I had a moment. He left a number - 281-973-7300 - for me to call back. Obviously, I didn’t bother with that. I still went ahead and changed my email password myself.Yahoo8 yearsSomeone was trying to scam me out of my cash.8 yearsAfter I told the guy he’d got the wrong number, he suddenly started saying all sorts of rude things to me. I phoned back later and this bloke said his name was David Joe or something like that. Honestly, some people are just nasty.David Joe9 yearsThis bloke rang me claiming my home PC was compromised, but I told him I don't even own one at home, felt fishy straight away. Then he tried saying my email was linked to the hack and advised I get my phone checked by some tech guy. He gave me this number, 281-899-0631, said he's with Scala Tec or something. When I rang back, a man answered all rude, asking why I called him. I just ended the call after that. Felt like a total scam to me.Scala Tec9 yearsI got two calls from this number where the bloke said his name was David and he claimed to work for email verification at live.com - which just happens to be my email provider. He told me someone was using my email to send shady stuff like drugs, and he’d help me sort it out. I got in touch with Microsoft myself and they said it was a total scam, told me to never give out any info. They also said there were attempts to access my account from Vietnam. The guy, David, had a strong Chinese or Indian accent. When he rang me again and I threatened to report him to the police, he got really nasty and started swearing at me. I tried calling the number back and someone answered saying they were from a mortgage company. Proper creepy stuff.
