10 yearsI received a rather peculiar phone call on my home landline from a rather young woman inquiring after my sister, who had previously alerted us about some dodgy dealings. When I probed for her name, she initially claimed to be Mike Morrison but then hastily switched to calling herself Monica. She claimed to represent Cricker Cleaning Services and was offering duct cleaning for the bargain price of £59.95, insisting that other companies would charge over £100. Upon asking for her company's location, she curtly replied that she couldn’t disclose that information. Frustrated, I let her know exactly what I thought of her scammy behaviour and told her I was terminating the call. A word of advice: trust your instincts and steer clear of these scammers who pester you with dodgy deals or threats. If you’re ever in doubt, just do what I did and hang up. It might be wise to contact your phone provider to set up a call block on any suspicious numbers.
