I made a phone call this morning, where I intentionally engaged the person on the other end for as long as possible, until they eventually ended the call. It followed the typical format of similar incidents in which they claimed there were issues with my computer.

I received several calls where the individual on the other end claimed to be from Microsoft, alerting me to a software issue. During the first call, I terminated the conversation abruptly. On the subsequent two calls, they promptly ended the conversation when I asserted that Microsoft would never make a home call for such matters.

My 93-year-old mother received a call from this number, where the caller requested access to her computer and demanded money. It is truly disgraceful!

I received a phone call at 11:02 on November 30th, 2015. The caller quickly hung up without saying anything. I echo the sentiments expressed by others and wonder what actions are being taken by the authorities to address these ongoing nuisances.

A common scenario occurred where an individual with an Indian accent claimed to possess an English name. They dialed me on behalf of Microsoft, apparently. When I requested specific details such as the office building, department, and the name of their manager, the person abruptly ended the call before I could enlighten them about the delights of swimming in the holy Ganges River.

I'm curious as to why they persistently label individuals, who are clearly aware of their intentions, as fraudulent and inform them unequivocally. It appears to be a pointless and costly endeavor for both parties, not just me.

In the past, I have engaged with them, reluctantly, even reaching the point of berating them. I have also politely but firmly requested that they refrain from contacting me again. However, none of these approaches seems to yield any results. Over the years, I have contacted the Telephone Preference Service countless times, causing them to possibly perceive me as someone who engages in spamming activities!

I managed to engage him in conversation for a good 5 minutes, making me feel like I somewhat wasted his time. It was just another typical windows scam attempt. These scammers must assume I'm foolish. To add to the comedic factor, he eventually asked if I was older than 16 and promptly ended the call! Absolutely hilarious, considering I'm more than double that age!

I agree with the previous remarks regarding the virus, and so on. It has become rather tedious at this point.

A man who spoke a different language asked if I owned a computer. I informed him that I did not have one, and he abruptly ended the call.

How is it possible for our advanced nation to still tolerate the presence of these fraudulent activities? It should be quite easy for us to implement a system that blocks unwanted calls such as those with puzzling codes like 00124***. However, unless we possess great knowledge or are willing to spend money on third-party services that take advantage of older people, we cannot achieve this. Whoever originally came up with the saying "crime doesn't pay" clearly lived in a different time.

It has come to my attention that multiple calls are being made from a specific number, which seems to be associated with a vishing operation. This is a common scam where the caller pretends to be from Microsoft and claims there is an issue with your computer. Their intentions are to manipulate you into downloading software and granting them access to your computer. Once inside, they will attempt to gather your banking information and other sensitive details. It's important to note that elderly individuals who are less familiar with computers are particularly susceptible to falling victim to this fraud. In order to protect yourself, one effective strategy is to engage them in conversation and prolong the interaction, ultimately wasting their time.
