Got a call from someone claiming to be from Windows, telling me my PC was infected with a virus. They wanted me to let them take control of my computer, but I reckon that’s how they sneak into your online bank, eBay, Amazon accounts and basically steal everything. Seriously, do not follow any instructions they give you!

Got a call claiming to be from Bolivia, said there was some issue with my Windows. Turns out they wanted to hack into my computer to steal my bank info and other online passwords. Watch out, it's definitely a scam!

I got a phone call from some bloke claiming he’s from Windows support saying my computer had a virus. He told me to get up and switch on my PC while I was still in bed, and I just nodded along. Then he asked what I was seeing on the screen, and I said it was just my homepage. After that, he wanted me to find the ctrl key on the bottom left of the keyboard and then asked about the button next to it and so on. He told me to press ctrl and r together. I just said the sun is shining right now. He got annoyed and asked why I was wasting his time when he was trying to help me. I told him to stop calling, pretending to be from Windows and saying my computer was infected, it was just a waste of time. Then he just hung up on me.

I got a dodgy call from some bloke claiming he was with 'Windows'. He said my computer had been hacked and told me to stay by it and follow his instructions or else he’d lock me out completely. He reckoned ringing Microsoft wouldn't help because they never answer. I asked him to tell me what OS I was running, and he totally got it wrong. Definitely a scam.

This number has been calling me repeatedly, but whenever I pick up, there’s just silence on the other end. After a moment, a woman’s voice says “Goodbye” before the call ends. Curious, I tried ringing the number back, only to hear a man’s voice saying the number isn’t assigned and that I could buy it if I wanted. There’s no further info about why this is happening. I’m really wondering what’s going on with it and if it’s somehow linked to any Trojan horse scams connected to the same phone line.
