Got a call from this number a minute ago, they wanted to talk to me by name and tried to confirm my email address. I told them I wasn’t gonna share any info and ended the call. They rang back almost straight away but I just cut it off again.

Watched out for a dodgy internet "security" outfit who sells you long-term monitoring plans claiming they'll keep your computer safe. They supposedly check your device for issues, then ring you up warning that your PC is hacked, even though it's running fine and your antivirus shows nothing. They insist on taking control of your computer, point out some harmless things that might look worrying if you're not tech-savvy, and then ask for more money to "repair" these fake problems. They admit there's a contract, but claim the issues come from outside their protection, so you'll need to pay extra. I got caught in their trap once too! Definitely avoid phoning back these numbers: 239-425-1454, 239-494-8756, 239-494-8787, 239-800-9457, 239-908-4083, 239-908-4162, 239-908-4172, 239-908-4173, 239-949-8756, and others.

I'm pretty sure this number belongs to some sort of scammer.

I was at work and got three calls all within about ten minutes. The number showed up as from Florida on my caller ID. Quite annoying!

This number rang me nonstop, like 7 times straight. I finally picked up on the sixth try and warned them I'd report the harassment to the FCC if it didn't stop. No sooner had I put the phone down than they were ringing again. So, I just set the phone down without answering and left it alone for a few minutes. Luckily, since then, no more calls from them.

Absolutely rubbish "cybersecurity" firm pretending to offer protection with their long-term plans. They claim they’re watching over your PC and then ring you up saying your computer has been hacked, despite it running fine and no antivirus alerts. They ask to take control remotely, show you a bunch of harmless things that look scary if you don’t know much, then demand more money to "repair" these supposed issues. They admit you have a contract, but claim the problems come from somewhere else that their software doesn’t cover, so you have to pay extra. They conned my 73-year-old mum out of £400 before I caught on when they called while I was visiting. We cut off her internet, switched off remote access, wiped out the dodgy programs they installed, ran a full virus scan - hopefully she’s safe now, but those pestering calls haven’t stopped yet, still trying to bully her into paying more.
