I received a peculiar call today, with a robotic voice claiming to be from BT, saying my internet service was on the verge of disconnection. Oddly enough, the call was from Egypt! It instructed me to "press 1" to chat with an adviser. I can't stress enough that this is a despicable scam! Should you press that button, you'll find yourself in a costly pay-per-minute queue that seems to stretch on indefinitely. Seriously, don't engage with these sorts of calls by hitting any keys! Make sure to block that number immediately!
