The caller said the PC was infected and tried to get details to 'fix' it. The person on the receiving end faked following instructions and said the line was bad to waste time. When asked what was on screen, they called it out as a scam, causing the caller to hang up straight away.

Had a rather amusing run-in with a chap named George Thomas the other day. He had quite the pronounced Indian accent and insisted he was a technician from Microsoft Windows. He claimed my computer was riddled with infections. I decided to humour him and pretended to follow his rather ridiculous instructions, while actually making him repeat them several times, all under the guise of poor line quality. After about five minutes of this nonsense, when he finally queried what was up on my screen, I cheekily shot back with "MICROSOFT SCAM." You should have seen how quickly he cut the call!
