12 yearsI got a call on my mobile and the line was really crackly. When I asked the caller which company she was from, she put me through to someone she called a "specialist". Once the new person was on the line, I repeated my question about the company’s name, and then she just hung up on me. The first woman told me I was a finalist and they were checking if I’d won some kind of “bonus” prize, which apparently I had. Shortly after, I got a text that just said “you won”. I replied telling them I wasn’t interested and asked them not to call me again.12 yearsSo this number rang me and when I picked up, a woman claimed I was one of 10 finalists in a million-pound online draw. I asked her which site it was for, but she just said it was one of their marketing sites for taking a survey. Then she goes, “Aren’t you thrilled to be in the top ten for a million-pound prize?” No actual website name mentioned though. I checked with my partner if I’d done any surveys recently, and the moment she heard that, she just said have a nice day and ended the call. Definitely sounds dodgy to me! Thanks for playing on people’s hopes with these bogus prizes. Then I tried calling back, but all I got was static and a lady with an Indian accent saying they were getting loads of calls, followed by silence before the line dropped.
