They persistently make calls and simply remain silent. Even after being greeted "hello" three times, they abruptly end the call and repeat the process by calling back.

I am often called, being aware that I have no family in DC. So, I began interacting with "Hen" and asked if he claimed to be Obama. In a cordial manner, I requested information from him that the President might need. To Hen, I clarified that I had fulfilled my tax obligations, as he might have dialed the wrong number. However, they persistently called this individual, whose heavy accent indicated an Indian origin.

What can be done to prevent scams?

We have been receiving phone calls from various numbers in Washington, D.C. A man with a foreign accent, possibly of Middle Eastern origin, has been leaving threatening messages claiming that my case has been handed over to him. He warns that if I do not return the call, a Sheriff will visit my home and arrest me. The name of the company is unclear, but it sounds similar to the Attorney General's office. We previously received similar harassing calls from a California number, which appears to be the same person. Eventually, we blocked those numbers, but now they continue to call from different Washington, D.C. numbers. If this were a genuine collections attempt, we would have received communication through traditional mail. As far as I am aware, there is no outstanding debt or collection case against me. I advise against returning their calls and suggest blocking their numbers in the hope that they will stop bothering everyone.

I am urgently calling on behalf of Eric Foster, a Federal Agent from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), regarding an important tax issue. However, I apologize as I couldn't confirm your name at the moment.

The other day, I received a phone call from the number 2023214382. The person who called asked for my wife by name but had a clear Russian accent. Interestingly, I do speak Russian myself. The caller was determined to speak with my wife, and I must say, I'm eagerly waiting for him to call again. Based on my instincts, I can confidently say that it's certainly a scam (or "obman" as we say in Russian).

I didn't answer the phone when they called because I don't answer calls from unknown numbers. When I tried calling the number back, I couldn't make the call for some reason. It's frustrating that these people keep bothering me. I just want to use my phone for myself, not for dealing with these unwanted callers.

I received a call from an unknown number where the person on the line asked for someone named johnshjoe Shhh blah, which actually turned out to be me. I find these unsolicited calls quite amusing, so I decided to play along and pretended to be thrilled that they contacted me. I asked the caller why they were reaching out, trying to give them the impression that I was eager to engage with them. Unfortunately, as soon as I confirmed that I was indeed johnshjoe, the caller abruptly hung up. It's worth mentioning that I haven't completed any financial applications and have been receiving a lot of emails lately, although I haven't opened any of them.

I recently received an interesting message from a scammer who was pretending to be a part of a US Government Grant program. According to them, I had been randomly chosen as a recipient of $7000 as a token of appreciation from the government. Isn't it peculiar?

I had a rather unpleasant experience with an ignorant man today. We were engaged in an argument, and to my dismay, he proceeded to threaten me by saying he would come all the way to Texas just to find me. This incident occurred at 5:45 pm.

I made a mistake by filling out grants online, which was clearly not the right thing to do. Unfortunately, I started receiving calls from a man with an Indian accent who consistently mispronounced my name. These calls have become really annoying and I sincerely hope someone intervenes to put an end to them. I have come to realize that they are nothing but scams. It certainly takes away the fun when dealing with such fraudulent activities.

I received a phone call earlier from a number that was quite difficult to understand due to the deep voice on the other end. It sounded like the person was Indian. They provided me with a confirmation number and a phone number, which was 202 697 9034. They also gave me a name to call, either Sam Benjamin or Benjamin, although their speech wasn't very clear. I have no idea who this person is, but they claimed that the government has selected me for something and that I will be receiving money. However, they didn't mention how much money or why I am being selected. Curious about the call, I decided to search the number online and came across some interesting information.

Received a phone call on Jun 3 at 4:49 PM from a man with a strong Indian accent who claimed to be from the federal government. He said I had been selected to receive a cash grant of $7000, but it had to be received on the same day. He provided a confirmation number for the claim, but when I inquired if it was a check, he just continued talking without answering. I then asked if he would be sending it through postal mail, and he replied, "it is cash." Afterwards, he inquired about my age, and when I asked him to hold, he hung up after approximately 10 minutes.

I received a phone call notifying me that I have been selected as a recipient for a grant worth £7,000. The caller requested me to pay a £310 fee as an application payment. I was instructed to purchase a card and load the fee amount onto it.
