I keep receiving calls that seem to be subtly warning me of potential legal action unless I ring the number I've just reported. This has become quite a recurring nuisance. I would greatly appreciate any measures you could implement to put an end to this bothersome situation.

Cheers,

I received a call from the number 201 331 3173, but I didn't pick up. They left a voicemail instructing me to ring back at 201 331 3137. I tried calling that number, but there was no response.

What’s the reason these numbers aren’t being blocked?

Every six weeks or so, we begin to get a barrage of messages from this number claiming to be associated with a magistrate and federal agents. It’s almost always three or four messages back-to-back, then it goes quiet for another six weeks. This has happened thrice now. I know full well that the IRS only communicates via postal mail, and I'm not particularly worried about anyone else’s 'agents'. If it were of genuine concern, they’d have no trouble tracking me down.

I'm currently situated in Canada, and I can't fathom why I'm receiving calls from a federal agency based in New Jersey. It's utterly ridiculous! These phone calls must be put to a halt!

Receiving calls like this can lead to health issues, particularly for our elderly population. It's crucial that these unsolicited communications are put to an end.

I've been receiving persistent phone calls, and they’ve even gone so far as to threaten me with jail time unless I cough up some cash in the next 45 minutes. Seems like a right scam to me!

Good effort, but I actually reside in California. This whole thing about tax returns in New Jersey is quite amusing! Honestly, I’ve never submitted any taxes there, so let’s be real, shall we? Haha!

I just had the most infuriating 20-minute chat with these clowns. They claimed I was on the verge of being sued because of an alleged issue with my 2013 tax return. I insisted that I needed to check my records before entertaining any talk of payments or legal action. They wouldn’t let up and, in the end, became so exasperated with me that they decided to cut the call. If only I had done my homework and checked these guys out first, I could have avoided this whole unnecessary bother!

Rang my work line earlier. Quite bothersome, I must say.

The tax office will absolutely NOT ring you up; any communication will come through the post in written form. This is nothing but a scam!

Government organisation, yet declining to specify which... Good attempt, though!

I've received calls from the same number, and they left a voicemail that frankly sounded quite bizarre. A woman's voice, all robotic and lacking any warmth, warned me that ignoring their call could lead to serious trouble - court, no less! It was quite the dramatic message, urging me to return the call to chat with a so-called federal agent. Quite suspicious, if you ask me!

I received a rather ominous “final call” from the number 201 331 3137, which I found rather odd since it was my first interaction with them! Interestingly, I also had a similar message from 717-900-0995, so do be cautious if that one tries to reach out to you as well.

I've received numerous calls from the number 2013313137, insisting I return a call to the federal office. Each time, it's the same automated female voice relaying the message. I have no intention of calling back, and I certainly won't do it!

It’s certainly an issue that can be resolved. Simply keep ringing them and don’t hesitate to confront them. Eventually, they’ll cease to return your calls!

I've received numerous calls from this number, and honestly, the messages they've left come across as rather menacing. I haven't picked up any of their calls, but their voicemails are concerning. After doing a bit of digging, I found some details about them here. I've decided to block the number, but I honestly believe there should be some legal consequences for this kind of harassment.

Upon receiving the voicemail, I felt compelled to return the call just for a bit of fun. It turned into quite the saga, lasting nearly an hour with them incessantly hanging up only for me to ring them again. Eventually, they admitted it was all just a prank, to which I retorted, “No, you’re just trying to swindle people out of their hard-earned cash.” And then, click! They’ve gone radio silent on my calls now. At the very least, I might have spared someone else from their antics for a spell.

My dear mother, who is quite advanced in years, got a voicemail from this number claiming she had outstanding debts with the IRS. Without considering the situation in detail, she called them back and was asked about her age. After she revealed it, they suddenly said they were after someone entirely different and all was well. Curiously, she has also been receiving calls from the number 484-900-0991.

I received a call from a lady's voice instructing me to ring this number to get in touch with a federal agent regarding tax matters. Seems dodgy to me; could very well be a scam!

This is an urgent notification from the IRS, and it's essential that you take it seriously. Should you disregard this call, it could be interpreted as a deliberate effort to miss your first court appearance before a magistrate and jury. This is your last chance to get in touch. Please call immediately to converse with a federal representative at 201-331-3137. Once again, that number is 201-331-3137. Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter.

I recently received a rather alarming call from the number 2013313137. They were making all sorts of threats regarding the IRS, insisting I needed to return the call at once to avoid getting into severe difficulties. What truly astonishes me is the audacity of these individuals and how they manage to single out certain phone numbers. Nevertheless, reading through your comments has helped ease my anxiety, and I’ve taken the step to notify both the police and the media about these dubious calls. Cheers to everyone for the support!

It seems like I've received yet another attempt to get in touch from someone claiming to be a federal agent.

I received the identical call that others have reported-though this time, it was a female voice on the line. Curious, I thought I’d ring them back, pretending to be a solicitor acting on behalf of the tax office, involved in an inquiry regarding some dodgy dealings tied to this number. Unfortunately, my efforts were in vain as no one answered the call. What a letdown! I had all my lines perfectly rehearsed!

Received a final call from someone who claimed to be a federal agent. Quite the peculiar encounter!

After receiving three rather peculiar messages, I found myself intrigued enough to pick up the phone. To my astonishment, it turned out to be a young woman marketing lingerie! I'm completely serious here. She had the most charming, youthful voice and requested my Skype details to showcase her entire collection of knickers and thongs. I couldn’t resist the temptation. What followed was an exceptionally delightful Skype call, during which I ended up purchasing more than twenty pairs for my wife. Not a shred of remorse on my end-why should there be? They were meant for her, after all. I must admit, it was quite endearing to watch this girl, who looked no older than sixteen, switch from one enticing set to another right before my eyes. It truly made my day-no, my month! I’d definitely suggest giving it a go!

I received a call that was clearly automated, and the message was a jumble of incoherent English urging me to get in touch with some federal agents. It’s blatantly a scam. Just to clarify, genuine federal agents don’t reach out in this manner.

I got a rather unsettling phone call today that claimed it was the final attempt to reach me - they identified themselves as a federal agent. Quite eerie, to say the least!

I got two voicemails today that I really didn't like the sound of. They warned that if I ignored the call, it would be seen as deliberately dodging an initial appearance before a magistrate and jury. They mentioned it was supposedly my last chance to get in touch. They urged me to ring an agent from the department at 201-331-3137 without delay. Given the alarming nature of the messages I've seen, I chose not to return the call.

I received a peculiar voicemail that sounded rather official - something about a final attempt from an agent, I reckon. I hung around until it concluded and then chose to listen in before hitting delete. They've rung me multiple times today too, but curiously, the number to return the call was left hidden. Quite odd, don’t you think?

If you choose to disregard this call, it could be seen as a deliberate effort to evade your first court appearance before the magistrate and jury. This is the last outreach we're making to you. Please don't hesitate to ring us back at once to engage with a federal agent at the number 201-331-3137.

The automated message states, "This is your final warning to consult a solicitor prior to appearing in court..." Definitely a scam. Best to steer clear and not respond.

Received a missive claiming it was the final try from a "Federal Agent" - whatever that means. I seem to be inundated with calls from "withheld numbers," and I’ve taken to ignoring them, considering how frequently there’s no one on the line. It gives me the shivers, to be honest. Almost feels like I’m being monitored or something equally unsettling.
