I chose not to pick up, but they did leave a message. It sounded like one of those automated calls that began talking before my voicemail kicked in. The only clear word I caught was "courthouse," and they told me to ring back.

Somebody rang me claiming they worked for the IRS and warned that I’d be taken to court in my local area if I didn’t sort things out.

They rang me a bunch of times, from two separate mobiles and even my home phone. Knowing from public info that the IRS doesn’t actually call to collect debts, I just went ahead and blocked the number.
