This number isn’t from the US, even though the 876 prefix might seem like it’s an American area code. It’s actually a Jamaican number, and back in 2014 the FTC in the States warned people not to pick up calls from it and to report them. Obviously, you can’t really do that in the UK since the FTC is US-based, but just so you know, these calls have been happening for over 4 years now and there’s no sign of anyone stopping them anytime soon. My top tips: 1. Don’t answer calls from numbers you don’t know. 2. Never ring back that number no matter what. 3. Block it straight away.
