This lady from India was on the line. I told her I didn’t have a computer at all, and blimey, they came back to ring me four different times! At one point, someone even called me a bastard, can you believe that? Lol.

Got a call from some bloke claiming there was an issue with my computer. This wasn’t the first time he’d bothered me. Played along for a bit to waste his time, but eventually told him where to go.

Got a call from some bloke claiming to be from Windows, said there were problems with my PC and I needed to turn it on for them to sort it out. I told him I’d be aware if anything was wrong and just hung up.

This bloke said he was from Microsoft, but as soon as I mentioned I’m the IT admin and even gave him an official Microsoft contact number, he suddenly backed off and ended the call. Totally obvious he just wanted to get into my computer.

Got a call from some bloke claiming my computer had errors and I needed to turn it on right away. I told him I don’t actually own a proper PC - just a really old laptop that’s so slow it might as well be ancient history. Haven’t used it since last September anyway. Total waste of time, steer clear of these calls!

Got a call from some bloke claiming my Windows was sending error reports and needed me to turn on my computer or something. Just ended the call right away - sounds like a dodgy scam and maybe an attempt to get into your PC.

Got a call from a bloke with a thick Indian accent, saying he was ringing from the UK about problems with our computers. He claimed there were errors showing up and wanted to help sort them out. I told him straight away that we only use Apple Macs here, so there’s no way he could know what was going on. Still, he kept asking what I was seeing on the screen. After a few minutes of this nonsense, he finally gave up and hung up. It was obvious a total scam - best to avoid these calls completely!

I played along with him for a while, but the moment I mentioned I use Linux, he just cut off! Classic scam stuff, really. Most of my mates are on Linux too, but I’ve made sure to tell my Windows-using pals to watch out for this. Have you given Action Fraud a go? Honestly, it feels like a nightmare trying to get anything done there!

Total scam, steer clear of these lot. They ring up saying there's an issue with your computer, then trick you into downloading some software. Next thing you know, they've got access to all your personal info. Watch out!
