I recently booked a holiday, and I've just gotten a letter dated the same day I made my online reservation. It's from BURRAGA COPPER LIMITED and claims I updated my email address with them. The letter includes a phone number that seems genuine, 1300 554 474, plus a link to "manage your holdings" at www.linkmarketservices.com.au. The thing is, I don’t have any investments with this company at all. It smells fishy to me, so watch out for this being a potential scam. Don’t bother calling the number or clicking on the link. The letter is from Link Market Services (link). Best to just bin the letter and delete any emails from these guys.

After my computer got hacked, I found a letter that looked like it was from Telstra, saying Link Market Services had gotten a request to update our name or address. It asked me to call that number if I needed help. Because of the hacking, I was pretty wary, so I decided to check the number myself before calling. Luckily, I didn’t end up ringing them.
