There is a real company that deals with Centrelink debt collection, but this phone number is definitely a scam. These scammers have somehow accessed Australian government data and are trying to trick people who owe Centrelink money into handing over cash. If you think you might owe something, always contact the official company directly and never provide your personal info to this number or pay them anything. When I spoke to them, I gave a fake name and they seemed to believe it - surely a genuine debt collector would know who they’re after? I actually owed $70 to Centrelink, but they hadn’t sent any debt collectors yet as I’d only just found out about it. Just be super cautious with calls like this!

Havent called Milton Graham back yet but I looked up the number and it looks linked to some Centrelink debt collectors. No clue if it’s legit or a scam tho. Also, how did they even manage to get hold of mobile numbers like that? I’m not trusting it one bit. Tried to alert Centrelink about it but gave up because it was so frustrating.

I just ignored it since I keep getting loads of scam calls. The caller kept saying “Hi Branden, please call back, it’s urgent.” I’m not even called Branden, so obviously it’s a dodgy call.

Got a message from someone called Milton Graham (used to be Dun & Bradstreet) telling me to ring 1300398546 about some “important matter” and to mention code 42118099. Sounds like a complete rip-off to me, absolute pain in the arse!

I got a similar text and rang back 1300398546, which turned out to be D&B. A woman answered and said they got my info from myGov. After logging into my Centrelink account, I found a PDF letter about an overpayment on childcare fees, saying I had to reimburse them. It sounded reasonable, so I repaid it using BPay through the methods they specified, either online or at Australia Post. From my experience, this message wasn't a scam. I’d suggest everyone first checks their myGov account to confirm. Only pay if the official letter says you owe money and stick to the payment instructions there, not anything else. Hope this clears things up for others!

Today, I got a text from the number +61420101907. The message said something like, "Urgently call 1300398546 to sort out an important issue. Use reference 42089656. Cheers, Milton Graham (used to be Dun and Bradstreet)." I'm glad I looked this site up first before ringing them back.

A message popped up from 1300398546 asking me to call straight away about some urgent matter, telling me to mention quote number 42086982 when I get through. It was signed off by "Milton Graham (Used to be Dun & Bradstreet)." I replied saying I have no idea who D&B is, and I haven’t heard anything back from them since.

Cheers, Milton Graham (formerly Dun & Bradstreet).” I looked up that number and found this site. No way I’m ringing that, so I’ve blocked it instead. Let’s see if they try anything else now!

I mean, which legit company would send an sms to chase a debt? Usually, it’s always through mail - like a formal demand letter from a lawyer or something official from the revenue office. They always send a prior letter explaining the payment terms and deadline first. This has got scam written all over it, no doubt.

Could you ring Milton Graham (used to be Dun & Bradstreet) on 1300 398 546 and mention reference number 42034464 as soon as you can? On Tuesday 11th July 2017 I received a text from 0488822474 about a debt related to Centrelink. Worried, I called the number to find out more. They said I owed money, so I gave them my details and card info and paid up. A few hours later, I started feeling uneasy and decided to look up the number online. That's when I found loads of warnings saying it was a scam. I panicked and contacted my bank straight away. They cancelled my card and started an investigation to try and get my money refunded, though it’s still showing as pending. Then I checked the official D&B website and noticed their number was totally different. Also, I looked at my Centrelink app and realised I actually do owe the money I paid those scammers. I sent the proof to Centrelink to clarify everything.

Watch out, this is DEFINITELY a scam! Some guy pretending to be from Dun & Bradstreet called me saying I owed money for an old debt from Centrelink and tried to grab my credit card info. He claimed the debt was still unpaid and that D&B had purchased it. They even started by sending me a text message. Luckily, I went straight to my bank, NAB in Double Bay, and the teller told me it was all a load of rubbish and to ignore it.

From what I’ve read on various forums, this number is linked to some dodgy credit scammers. It looks like they might have hacked into Dun & Bradstreet or done some sort of phishing to get hold of your phone number and details about a debt. They then pretend to be Dun & Bradstreet, trying to trick you into giving them more personal info under the pretence of sorting out the debt. After that, they vanish. If you try calling Dun & Bradstreet directly, they usually won’t share any info with you and there's a chance you’ll still owe that debt.
